Today we were leaving Wrightwood to continue onwards. The place we stayed at offered us a ride to the trailhead at 0800 so we got up around 7. I had secured done breakfast at the bakery the day before so my breakfast consisted of a muffin and a cinnamon swirl.

We all finished packing and made sure we had everything. A bit after 8 we all loaded in the a pickup truck and started the ride to the trailhead.

When we arrived I walked across the road and back to make sure I had an unbroken footpath still.

We decided to have lunch at the top of Mt Baden-Powell and got started on the hike there. I purposely walked very slow and focused on taking small steps and noticed as I did so that my dad did not hurt. I also quickly discovered that uphill is fine but downhill I have to slow right down.

On the uphill push to Mt Baden-Powell I did fine and we enjoyed a rather long lunch which for my part consisted of tortillas with peanut butter, nuts, and honey syrup. Very calorie dense.

After lunch we decided to meet up at a water source some 6 miles ahead. It was a lot of downhill so I went very slowly. Unfortunately I also managed to make a wrong turn and only noticed this after 1.5 miles or so. This meant that the others had left the water source as I lost an hour and was already slow.

I continued on after the water source slowly so the trail continued mostly downhill. Late in the day the trail made a massive steep climb followed by a just add impressive descent. Not long after this I reached the others around 1920. The others had set up camp and after stretching I ate my dinner and prepared my camp.

On a positive note my new glasses seem to be working very well even though I wish they would become a bit darker.
